Afterglow is the signature piece of the Salt & Story collection. An intentionally delicate, one-of-a-kind necklace inspired by the way the shoreline seems to glitter after a storm.

There is something beautiful about standing at the water’s edge once the storm has passed. The sky begins to brighten, the waves settle, and suddenly the shoreline catches the light… scattered fragments sparkling amongst the sand and shingle.

That was the feeling I wanted to capture in Afterglow.

Seven pieces of genuine sea glass collected by us from Seaham, come together along a delicate sterling silver chain. Each fragment has its own colour, shape and markings: shades of misty grey, ocean blue, seafoam green and white, all softened and transformed by the sea.

At the centre sits a distinctive textured sea-glass pendant, its surface carrying beautiful lines and markings. It is the heart of the necklace and the heart of its story.

Those marks are part of its beauty.

Just as the sea leaves its traces upon glass, life leaves its traces upon us. Some experiences change our shape. Some leave marks we never asked for. But being weathered by life does not mean being broken.

The light still finds its way through.

And sometimes, it is those very marks that make us who we are.

The seven fragments come together as one piece… different in colour, shape and character, yet belonging exactly where they are. Together, they catch the light just as the shoreline does after a storm.

A reminder that our stories are not something to hide. They are part of what makes us whole.
